A premium strength beer with a rich, fruity taste to match. Ruby coloured, the Xtra strength in XB brings out its complex aroma to perfection.
Why “XB”?
In the early 1980s when this beer was about to be launched, the question around the brewery was “what are we going to call it?” At that time, Best Bitter casks were stencilled with ‘BBB’ and Old Peculier casks with ‘XXXX’. Being thrifty Yorkshiremen with only ‘X’ and ‘B’ stencils to play with, we had a choice of either ‘BX’ or XB – we opted for ‘XB’!

Tasting Notes
A premium strength, ruby coloured ale with a rich flavour and full body. The balance between bitterness and fruitiness from the Bramling Cross and Fuggle hops used give XB the distinctively complex aroma, making it the beer to savour.
