FAVOURITE BREWERY TAP DEVELOPS HOTEL AND CONFERENCE CENTRE

One of Yorkshire’s favourite pubs which has been serving real ale for generations is to undergo a major refurbishment to enhance and extend the flagship property of one of the UK’s oldest family owned brewers.

  

Theakstons has today confirmed that it’s much loved brewery tap, The White Bear in Masham, is to receive a £1.5 million makeover transforming the adjacent property and former brewery offices into a hotel and conference centre, whilst retaining its traditional character and warm welcome.

Harrogate Crime Writer's Festival Whodunit Competition Winner Announced

Congratulations to Pam Hearne who successfully solved the crime and was selected by Natasha Cooper from a number of entries.

 

Natasha was so impressed with the creativity of some of the entries that she has selected 3 for special runners up prizes who will each receive a signed copy of her latest novel, Gagged and Bound. They are Kate Mitchell, E Stockton and Nora O’Hara

After four weeks and thousands of votes by the crime reading public, the shortlist for the 2007 Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year has been created.

 

Announced today it is the only award of its kind to be voted for by the general public and it is now your chance to have a say in who will win.

The longlist was announced today for one of the most prestigious awards in the international crime writing calendar - the 3rd Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year Award, the only literary prize of its kind to be voted for by the general public. 

 

Won by Mark Billingham in 2005 and Val McDermid in 2006, the award longlist once again features an eclectic mix of big names such as PD James and Ruth Rendell as well as aspiring new writers, spanning crime novels across the genre, from historical and police procedural to psychological.

New Bottled Beer from Theakstons Offers a Taste of Paradise at Home!

T&R Theakston launches Paradise Ale in a bottle in an exclusive deal with Waitrose

 

Independent Brewer T & R Theakston is celebrating the start of the summer after confirming an exclusive deal with Waitrose supermarket. This will enable Ale enthusiasts across the country to enjoy Theakstons Paradise Ale in the comfort of their own home or garden, following the launch of its seasonal summer fruity flavoured beer in bottles.

Paradise is the first seasonal ale to be bottled by Theakstons in over 10 years. Previously the Ale has only been available in cask format for a limited period during the summer, but from 14th May it is available from 150 Waitrose stores across the UK for an exclusive six months, in 500ml bottles at a cost of £1.75.
