A career in beer …. Our purpose at Theakston Brewery is to delight the world’s beer drinkers! We are a 192 year old family controlled brewing company selling our famous beers in the UK and around the world
We have a fantastic opportunity for full time and part time Brewery Ambassadors to join our passionate and lively team at the Theakston ‘Black Bull in Paradise’ Brewery Visitor Centre. You will be responsible for conducting our fun and interesting brewery tour. Our Visitor Centre team members are the first point of contact with guests who visit Theakston Brewery and who are there to educate and entertain our consumers as they learn and watch how our legendary ales are brewed!
The Visitor Centre is situated at the Theakston Brewery Site in Masham in North Yorkshire. The Visitors Centre has four major business strands: The Brewery Tap which sells Theakston award winning ales; The Theakston Brewing Experience which tells the story of T&R Theakston, its people, beers and history; The Gift Shop offering a wide range of Theakston branded merchandise and bottle beers; our online shop theakstons.co.uk/shop which sells our merchandise to consumers all over the world.
The ideal candidate will have an outgoing and charismatic personality, with a flair for retailing, a knowledge and willingness to learn more of beer styles, history and brewing techniques. You must be comfortable speaking to and hosting small and large groups of people enthusiastically, courteously, and in a friendly manner. As a Tour Guide you will need to love talking to people, be fascinated by beer and the brewing process and want to share your passion of beer.
What you will do: -
Conduct tours on a regular basis – public, private and VIP groups
Manage sales, assisting customers and restocking gift shop
Greet and welcome all guests to Theakston Brewery and the Visitor Centre

It's a given that you're passionate about beer and being with people but it is also important that you have: -
Excellent, clear language and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast paced, multi task environment and under time constraints and deadlines
Ability to work in an organised and detail-orientated manner
A thirst for knowledge
Confidence as a group speaker
Ability to generate and implement new ideas to grow visitor numbers to the Brewery
Evidence of a welcome and embrace change personality with a positive, can-do attitude and the ability to support others
