Theakston Black Bull
Makes a celebratory return for a limited time only!
Black Bull Bitter was first brewed over thirty years ago and although not as popular as our ever-present Best Bitter, had, nevertheless, a very dedicated, mainly local fan base. Black Bull Bitter is brewed to 3.9% ABV but since the recipe requires most of the sugar content to be brewed out, the beer is a dry bitter with excellent bitter hop character both in aroma and taste as delivered by an abundance of Goldings hops. Equally unusually, the hops are added in not only in the copper but also in the hopback at a very late stage in the brewing process. This helps enhance its unrivalled hop character. The quality of the beer has, over time, resulted in a wider appreciation of fans throughout the UK and so we are delighted to announce that we will be bringing back cask Black Bull Bitter as a seasonal beer!
